My healing journey began in 2006 while I was at a friend's house. She was preparing for her evening Gongyo and asked me if I would like to join her. I said yes and I was introduced to the practice of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo also known as Nichiren Buddism. My friend later invited me to a district meeting (local neighborhood meetings in small groups and monthly World Peace Gongyo in a larger group at Montreal S.G.I. Center). I really enjoyed the meetings and finding out more about the Soka Gakkai International Association of Canada. I have been practicing Buddhism for 9 years now. Buddhism is not a religion, but a daily practice and life philosophy, a lifestyle transmitting Peace Culture Education. Founded in 1930, SGI International is a non-profit organization which has built Soka Universities and World Peace Centers all over the world for 85 years now. I am very grateful for the Words of Wisdom by our mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, for it has changed my life. Buddhists are said to be Masters at the Art of Living. I am grateful for every breath I take and my life is renewed and refreshed each new day thanks to this wonderful healing practice and I will forever be grateful to the founders of the Soka Gakkai International. Namaste
